Waajeed
Waajeed is a Detroit-based musician, educator, and community organizer. Raised in Detroit’s Conant Gardens, he was influenced by the city’s rich music scene and began collaborating with J Dilla at 14, eventually co-founding Slum Village. Waajeed founded the Bling47 label in 2002, signing artists like J Dilla and releasing his own solo project B.P.M.. He later launched Dirt Tech Reck and co-created Complex Movements, blending music, art, and social activism. In 2015, he founded the Underground Music Academy, promoting artistic independence and collective creativity.
