Spoony has long been a cornerstone of the UK Garage scene, shaping its evolution over more than two decades. His impact goes beyond just his DJ gigs, making waves in mainstream media, with notable work in Premiership Football and hosting The Good Grove on BBC Radio 2. In recent years, Spoony has taken his involvement in UK Garage to a new level with his Garage Classical project. Partnering with conductor Katie Chatburn and the Ignition Orchestra, he’s reimagined some of the genre’s most iconic tracks, blending them with orchestral arrangements to create a fresh, electrifying experience. The project has been met with tremendous success, including sold-out performances at some of London’s most prestigious venues. The Royal Albert Hall, in particular, has seen two sell-out shows in 2019 and 2024, demonstrating the enduring power and appeal of UK Garage, and Spoony’s ability to keep it relevant in an evolving musical landscape.
