Kenny “DOPE” Gonzalez is a Grammy-nominated producer known for blending genres like house, hip-hop, Latin, jazz, funk, and reggae over his 20-year career. Born in 1970 in Brooklyn, he developed a passion for music at a young age, working in a local record shop and amassing a collection of over 50,000 records. In the late 80s, Kenny teamed up with Mike Delgado to throw parties under the name “Masters at Work” and later collaborated with Todd Terry and King Grand to produce groundbreaking work. In 1988, he released his first album and eventually founded his own label, Dopewax Records, which continues to release influential tracks.
